∞ Children’s Climate Foundation invites applications for the Children’s Climate Prize 2020 awarded to children age 12-17 who have made extraordinary efforts for the climate and environment. Winners receive a diploma, medal and prize money of SEK 100,000 (roughly ₹82-83k) to continue with the development of their projects. [Deadline: 30 September 2020]
∞ PFAN invites applications from entrepreneurs seeking funding for their Climate or Clean Energy Projects. Women-led businesses are particularly encouraged. Selected PFAN projects undergo intensive one-on-one coaching to perfect their business plans, financial structures and investment pitches. Once investment-ready, projects may be invited to present at PFAN and partner events, or receive tailored investment facilitation services. [Deadline: 1 September 2020]
∞ The UC Santa Barbara Environmental and Climate Justice Hub invites papers on “Confronting Climate Crisis with Systemic Alternatives in the Age of the Coronavirus” for its nearly carbon-neutral conference from 19 October to 16 November 2020. The papers should engage with the global drivers of environmental and climate crisis and investigate their deep structures and histories. Likewise, contributions may analyze alternatives and the possibilities of more just climate futures. Other forms of participation that seek to bridge the academic, social movement, and policy domains are also welcome. To contribute to the conference, the applicant should submit an abstract/ proposal of 250 words for a pre-recorded individual talk or a whole panel discussion along with a brief biographical note on the speaker(s). Final videos of 8-15 minutes per speaker will be due on Monday, October 5. We welcome international submissions! [Deadline: 17 August for the abstract, 5 October for the final videos.]
∞ One Young World invites applications for the Mary Robinson Climate Justice Award 2020 that seeks to recognise and support young leaders behind impactful climate justice initiatives. The winners will have their initiatives advertised and promoted and receive a monetary grant of up to £4,000. [Deadline: 23 July 2020]
∞ Climate Action Network (CAN) International is inviting applications from filmmakers and videographers for its climate impacts campaign. As part of the campaign, selected filmmakers and videographers will be expected to create and edit short videos centered around stories of people affected by climate change around the world. The aim behind this project is to bring about a strong call on governments to respond effectively to climate change. [Deadline: 13 July 2020]
